Stunning Caribbean Wedding in Grand Cayman

I am thrilled to share Edlyn and Alex’s stunning Caribbean wedding today. A celebration of family and love!

I asked Edlyn a few question about her wedding day and loved what she is sharing with us.

How did you two meet?
We met in school, in the sixth grade. We became friends some time in high school (though neither of us really remembers exactly when). We stayed really goods friends after, keeping in touch while I was in university and he was serving in the US Navy. We started dating in late 2014 and it was a long distance relationship at the start (I was living in Cayman and he was living in Tampa at the time). For about half of our relationship Skype and WhatsApp were used on a daily basis to keep in touch, until we were able to take trips to see each other, until he eventually moved back home.

What was your favourite moments from the wedding?
Our first look! We weren’t going to do it at first, but I’m so glad we did. It was just a special moment together before being in front of all our guest.

How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
It was a wonderful and happy day. Everyone tells you that it all goes by so quickly and that you need to soak it all in and that’s exactly what I tired to do. I also love that I got to see so many people that we love and care about in one.

What photography related advice would you offer to a couple?
If you want group photos – have a list! Other than that, just have fun , enjoy the experience and trust your photographer to capture your day.

Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one? Who were you with?
The dress I wore, was the very first dress I tried on! I went for a quick trip to Tampa with my mom and two sisters. I didn’t really know what type of dress I wanted, just that it needed to be light so I wouldn’t be hot on the beach. The moment I put on the dress I instantly liked it, so did my family. I tried on a lot of mermaid style dresses, since I seemed to be drawn to that style initially but kept coming back to that that very first dress. I finally asked to put it back on and it was pretty clear that was the dress. From there we tried on different veils, and just like the dress the first one was the one. I loved the dress – it was simple but beautiful and I felt beautiful in it.
